The Hook That Kept Coming Was I Don’t Care
After many decades around music I had never written a song until I Don’t Care. I was out on a run and this melody was haunting me. Over and over. Then the words, “I don’t care what you think about me.”
I wondered to myself, what don’t I care about?
Enough Therapy
One evening after this phrase had been rumbling around in my head, I sat down. First with a guitar. The chord changes came quickly and the verse melody started to flow and in no time I had the song structure.
Then I grabbed a pen and in 10 minutes wrote all the lyrics about my ex-wife and the experience I had with it and after we broke up. WOW! I thought I had enough therapy but apparently not.
My Very First Song
I am really happy with the way this song came out. CJ killed it on guitar and background vocals. This is a true story and each verse is a segment of the relationship. And her best friend that I ran into in verse two is one of my dear friends now.
