When You Get Down You Have To Start Lookin’ Up!
My friend and brother from another mother Jerry Trimble has an amazing story.
He was the vicim of a bully in school. And, like many who have suffered this fate, had a choice: Let the bully get you down or start lookin’ up.
From A Victim To A Champion
Jerry started to study martial arts. After much hard work he went on to become a world champion.
He had persistence and drive to be the best he could be. This kept Jerry lookin’ up and always working to raise the bar.
One night I was out with Jerry on his birthday. While we were lashing and telling stories Jerry stopped mid sentence.
Like he had just seen a ghost… “the guy that bullied me just waled in the door! I’m going to go talk to him.”
From Pain To Gratitude
I thought for sure a fight would ensue and Jerry would get his revenge.
Instead, Jerry came back to the table with a big smile on his face. “I thanked him!”
Jerry thanked him for being the inspiration to learn martial arts and become a kickboxing champion, and a movie stuntman, and an actor who has worked with some of the biggest names in the business!
Through his hardship Jerry learned that by Lookin’ Up, even when you’re down, your dreams can come true!
