I have been to many drum circle’s during my walk here. They are always a pleasure to attend and participate in.
I ones I have enjoyed the most have been the one’s I have attended with Toby Christianson. He offer’s just enough instruction, to allow ANY beginner an opportunity to participate. While at the same time challanging the more practiced drummer. There are not as many places available that have the hoop drum and the Djembe playing together. However when they do there is magic in the mix.
I consider the “Drum Circle” as a healing for the community. It is not uncommon to have some people moved to dance. Many faces are blessed with great big smiles that come from that so often untouched place of bliss.
Toby greets each person in the circle with the voice of his drum, and the smile in his heart. The drums meet and greet and the cycle of entrainment for the good of all is set in motion.
The people gathered take this momentim with them, and share the healing of the drum with their family and friends.
There is no such thing as being “Unskilled” during the circles Toby facilitates. If you didn’t know the bliss of playing your drum when you started, you will be after an all too breif drum circle with Toby.
Any one lucky enough to have a drum placed in their hands will understand the heart connection. It is the awakening of this connection that aids in the building of community.
MORE DRUM CIRCLES PLEASE !

I attended Toby’s presentaion at the Wellness Expo on Kauai last February. I also purchased his “Four Doors Open” CD. I have been playing it almost continuously ever since.
On one occasion, after my daughter suffered a grand mal seizure, I turned on the drumming CD. It must have settled her brain because she did not have the usual post-seizure effects of headaches that she always has to endure. I was never interestted in drumming before and felt I had no rythm so I neglected the benefits this instument and its sound produces.
I’m very grateful to have encountered Toby while he was in Hawaii. I would be very interested in a drumming circle if he ever does one on Kauai.
There are people who work on their gifts in order to become more in touch with them. Toby doesn’t need to do this. He IS his gift in action. He genuinely enjoys and lives his gift. If you haven’t attended one of his drumming circles, you’re missin’ out on a great opportunity.
Thanks, Toby!
As always, I enjoy every opportunity to experience your talented drumming, though I haven’t actually seen you for at least a couple of years.
I want to mention that the musicians and patrons at The Blue Diamond still remember your visit with them some time back as well as the captivating power of your drumming. There are scores of top class musicians from around the world who continue that jam and hope to see you again sometime when you want to take a break and do some more creative improve work.
And…I hope to see you again as well.
Good luck,
Kenn
It is an Honor to know you and your work.
Blessings

You are amazing and your work is much needed right now. My personal session with you in June 2006 was transforming. What you shared with me was so insightful, yet I didn’t know just how much that one session played in my experience ahead. I had surgery in Sept. to remove a large cyst in my abdomen which revealed cancer – 2 kinds of ovarian and uterine. I began an unbelievable journey and have written a book about how I survived through “unconventional” ways. Today I am healthier than ever and am inspired to “spread the word” about all the healing that can take place internally, using that Inner Wisdom. And you Toby, are one of the beautiful messengers who light the way. Thank you from my heart…..Connie
You provided us with one fantastic weekend! Our drummers are still feeling your beats! I am amazed at how it felt to me and others that we had known each other for a long time and how you blended into my family immediately. You are truely a gift and light in this world and we look forward to drumming, learning and healing with you again, Peace, Cindy
